Founded as American Rock Wool in 1934, Thermafiber’s main manufacturing plant in Wabash Indiana has served as the backbone for the company’s success. In 1959, American Rock Wool was purchased by United States Gypsum (USG). In 1996, USG sold Thermafiber and since that time the company has been privately held and headquartered in Wabash.
